A Ukrainian-born soprano, Oksana Sliubyk is a two-time winner of the International Opera Awards Foundation bursary, a 2023 Opera for Peace artist supported by Opera Europa, and a graduate with distinction from both the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Lviv National Academy of Music. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Oksana’s artistic journey began early—she spent her school years studying piano and voice while attending a specialised secondary school with an advanced English-language curriculum. This dual focus laid the foundation for both her musical development and international career. Before moving to the UK, she performed with the Lviv National Philharmonic and took part in projects with the Lviv National Opera.
After graduating from the Guildhall School, she was granted Exceptional Talent status in the UK and has since performed across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Her festival and young artist program appearances include Prelude to Performance and Miami Music Festival (USA), as well as the Casalmaggiore and Livorno Music Festivals (Italy). She is a prize winner of the Southbank Sinfonia Peter Hulsen Orchestral Song Award and has been featured on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and Times Radio. She has performed with Northern Ireland Opera, and made her recital debut at Paul Hamlyn Hall, Royal Opera House in 2023.
Oksana is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Marusia Yaworska Music Scholarship (Canada), the Ukrainian Government Scholarship, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Scholarship, the Kathleen Trust Award, the International Opera Awards Foundation bursary (UK), and the Opera Europa Scholarship (Belgium). Her work has been featured twice in Opera Now magazine, and she made a cameo appearance as an opera diva in a popular British television series. She is currently receiving mentorship in both London and New York City as part of her ongoing artistic development.
